This year we decided to take 4 showcases off to fall showcase this year. Our showcases were in a group of two and each group worked very hard and it took a lot of time to do these showcases. We started planning our showcases back at the beginning of the school year in August and worked all the way trying to make them better till the deadline. We knew that we could always improve our showcase, so we would practice during our 2 class periods we have a day and and give each other tips when we would present to each other. When your in a showcase, you have to have a board showing what you had done, and a movie set up showing what you did as well. The biggest part in your showcase is talking about it and making sure that you know everything there is about your project to present to your judges. Our school did very well and got 4 out of 4 of our showcases to advance. We all worked so hard and we were very excited that they all advanced.
Madison and Brooke created a showcase called "Technology Night>" What these two girls did was put on a night at their school in a classroom showing adults and others about different things on a computer and kind of taking a tour of what you can do on Mac computers teaching them different types of applications and showing them the importance of technology. These girls at state made it to the final top ten showcase. We were all very positive and so glad that they made it this far.
Reagan and Bailey created a showcase called "South Warren Media Show." This Showcase is about our school news shows informing them and to show and explain how our school uses the news show to inform how we teach and involve all SWMS students in the 21st century learning of technology. These girls did this project also last year and they got into the top ten showcases in 2010-2011.

They taught Richpond elementary students the safety needed to use the web and how important it is to know to be careful what you do on the web.Natalie and Joy decided to got to Rich Pond Elementary and take the time to teach and explain to a classroom of 2nd graders for about an hour.We are so proud of these girls making it as far as they did and how much time and effort it was to do all of what they did.
Sydney and Morgan created a showcase called "Stock the Cart." Sydney and Morgan made a community service project and they collected food for people at a Hotel Inc food organization and they took pictures and videos of everything about the place and what was happening. These girls spent a lot of time outside of school to do this project and we are so appreciative of what all they did for this. They collect over 1000 cans for their project.
Congratulations to these 8 girls and what all they accomplished for our school!
